Unfortunately, Belinda Bencic has had to cancel her participation in the 2023 Hopman Cup. Switzerland’s Céline Naef will make up the Swiss duo, alongside Leandro Riedi. Céline Naef, born on June 25 2005, reached a career-high WTA ranking of 165th on June 26 2023, and 440th in doubles, also on June26 2023. To date, she has won five singles titles and two doubles titles on the ITF circuit. Naef began 2023 with a win in Loughborough, England, where she became champion by beating Britain’s Eliz Maloney in the final. In February 2023, the Swiss player played in her first major final and became singles and doubles champion at the $40,000 tournament in Porto, Portugal. She made her Grand Slam debut at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships after qualifying for the main draw.
