We’ve just finished day one, and what a day. The atmosphere, the players, the crowd, everything was incredible. We couldn’t have wished for a better start to the Hopman Cup! Even with the heat, you still showed up and supported your favourite players.
We’ve started the day with an amazing Kid’s Clinic hosted by Piatti Tennis. Rune, Ćorić, Gasquet, Cornet, Mertens they all came and played with the tennis stars of the future. Next to some on-court fun, the kids could get the autograph of their favourite players during the signing sessions hosted in our new Fan Zone.
Then, when it comes to tennis, it was a battle between Denmark and Switzerland. The ladies started off strong with Clara Tauson beating Céline Naef by 6-2 6-3. Afterwards it was the men’s turn, and Switzerland got a point too. Leandro Riedi overcame non-other than Holger Rune with a 6-4 6-3 win. So, the decider was in the mixed where after an outstanding match Team Swiss ended up beating Team Denmark, 6-3 6-4.
