Alexander Zverev

Country Germany
Age 19
Plays Right-handed
Turned Pro 2013
Hopman Cup Titles/Finals None
Years Played 2016

Zverev returns to the Hopman Cup for a second consecutive year after a breakthrough 2016 season. The 198-centimetre talent started the year ranked No.83 – but after reaching three ATP World Tour finals, including winning his maiden title in St.Petersburg to become the first teenage titlist since 2008, he was at a career-high of No.24 in September. A former world No.1 junior and now the youngest member of the world’s top 50, Zverev scored wins over top 10 opponents Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka and Tomas Berdych during 2016. His win over Federer made him the first teenager to beat the Swiss legend since Andy Murray in 2006.

Andrea Petkovic

Country Germany
Age 29
Plays Right-handed
Turned Pro 2006
Hopman Cup Titles/Finals None
Years Played 2013

A fan favourite wherever she plays, Petkovic is a steely competitor as well as an entertaining personality. A top 10 player as recently as 2015, her ranking slipped outside of the top 40 during the 2016 season – yet wins over the likes of Garbine Muguruza and Jelena Jankovic proved the German can never be discounted.
A knee injury derailed Petkovic’s only previous visit to the Hopman Cup in 2013, so she will be hoping for better fortune as she aims to win Germany’s third title, and first since 1995.
