“There are lots of exciting match-ups for the 2014 event. The field is exceptionally strong,” said Hyundai Hopman Cup Event Director Steve Ayles.

“Our first day is set to be a blockbuster. World No.4 Agnieszka Radwanska will play US Open semifinalist and world No.31 Flavia Pennetta. World No.15 Jerzy Janowicz will then battle it out with world No.22 Andreas Seppi.

“Australia will face Canada in the first night session, with Sam Stosur facing rising star Eugenie Bouchard and Bernard Tomic going up against the in-form Milos Raonic.

“The country versus country battle will continue on day two when the Czech Republic meet 2013 champions Spain.

“It promises to be quite a spectacle when Anabel Medina Garrigues pairs up with Tommy Robredo for a second time in an effort to win a Hyundai Hopman Cup title together. They were so close in 2007 but just missed out to Russia’s Dmitry Tursunov and Nadia Petrova.

“Other big match-ups include USA’s John Isner and Sloane Stephens who face the popular French team of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Alize Cornet on day five, and a blockbuster day six when Australia takes on Poland.

“2014 is one of the most even competition’s in the event’s history,” Ayles continued.
