Roger Federer is a seventeen-time Grand Slam champion and one of the world’s greatest tennis players. He will start his 2017 season in Perth.
The current world No.3 returns to Western Australia for the first time in 15 years. Federer has competed at the Hopman Cup twice before, winning the event at the age of 19 in 2001 with Martina Hingis and teaming up with his now wife Mirka in 2002. The right-hander has 88 career singles titles to his name, the third most of any player in the Open Era, one doubles gold medal won at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and led Switzerland to a Davis Cup title in 2014.
The 34-year-old has spent a record 302 weeks at world No.1, has had over 1000 match wins and represented his country at 27 Davis Cup ties since 1999.

Nineteen-year-old Belinda Bencic is currently ranked world No.16. The rising star has risen up the rankings in the past 12 months reaching a career high of seven in February 2016.
Bencic has two career singles and doubles titles to her name. Her best Grand Slam result is a US Open quarterfinal appearance in 2014 before she reached the fourth round of the Australian Open earlier this year. She made her Fed Cup debut in 2012 and has since played six ties with a 9-3 win loss record. Hopman Cup 2017 will be the first time she teams up with fellow countryman Roger Federer to play mixed doubles.
